Dragons are an embarrassing club. The hierarchy, the split board .
If its true that they didn't want Ryles to have too much control of the team then the club won't improve any .

St George Illawarra Dragons 2023
Cant read the article because of a paywall, but I’m wondering if this is a bit of a beat up.
St George buildings are slowly rebranding to Westpac. I wonder if we’ll see Westpac announce a sponsorship deal soon.
Personally, I think it’s time they get BHP to sponsor them, relocate permanently to Wollongong, change their strip to all Red and bring back Stanley the Steeler.. maybe have a name change too while they’re at it.

Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

"We can confirm that 2024 will be the final season of St George Bank’s sponsorship of the St George Illawarra Dragons,” A St George Bank spokesman said.Fuifui Bradbrad wrote:Cant read the article because of a paywall, but I’m wondering if this is a bit of a beat up.

“The partnership has been an important sponsorship for the bank, but the time is right to pursue new opportunities for our communities, business and customer priorities. We will continue to support the Dragons through 2024 as they assess their future sponsorship arrangements.”

John Howard would be spinning in his grave.
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Be hilarious if they changed their name to the Westpac Illawarra Dragons, wouldn’t it?

Steelers get a raw deal, huge base that props up the dragons and no recognition. If I was running Zims club they'd have 2 jerseys, the white with red v and the steelers jersey as the alternate.
Same issue at the tigers, use 1 tigers and 1 magpies and recognise where you came from

Re: St George Illawarra Dragons 2023
I loved going to Steelers games when I used to live across the road from WIN Stadium. I spent one game heckling Terry Hill, got a fair section of the hill joining in. Even better when the Raiders would come and flog themThe Nickman wrote:Personally, I blame zim.bonehead wrote: ↑June 2, 2023, 7:47 am Steelers get a raw deal, huge base that props up the dragons and no recognition. Dragons star’s $500k deal in doubt over hammer attack
Dragons star Junior Amone is set to have his NRL contract deregistered after the governing body issued a notice to the five-eighth amid his court battle over his role in a hammer attack.
Amone avoided prison in Wollongong District Court last week after being convicted of charges of intimidation and assault occasioning actual bodily harm when he brandished a hammer and chased a tradesman off a roof in November last year.
