Dreadful option but it's not the only one we've taken

Starling is on - game over
Re: 2024 Round 7 v Broncos: Game Day
He only wants good players replaced. The ones he likes all suck, but no-one is allowed to call for them to be replaced

At least he has potential. As I said, he is in first grade too early but you give him a pass.Leebola wrote: ↑April 20, 2024, 9:07 pmYeah, I can't get over the ripping of the kid here tonightColk wrote: ↑April 20, 2024, 9:05 pmHe’s an 18 year old for god’s sake. I said that he shouldn’t play first grade for another year because playing games like these is probably going to harm his development. That’s not on him though, that is on the clubRoger Kenworthy wrote: ↑April 20, 2024, 9:03 pmCourageous yes, but he just hasn't added anything in these couple of games. An NRL fullback doesn't get by on courage like Gary Jack in the 80s did.
Re: 2024 Round 7 v Broncos: Game Day
The modern day equivalent of Garry Jack would be CNK at FB. Who was brave as hell and a defensive expert but just short of the elite level in attack, even if he ran hard and often.Roger Kenworthy wrote: ↑April 20, 2024, 9:03 pmCourageous yes, but he just hasn't added anything in these couple of games. Re: 2024 Round 7 v Broncos: Game Day
67th min TRY RAIDERS to Xavier Savage. Simi Sasagi put up the kick, no one takes it and the ball bounces well for the winger. Chevy Stewart can't convert. Given he is the back up NRL kicker, he probably should have been kicking all year in NSW Cup.

Just short of the elite level? He played 21 tests?BadnMean wrote: ↑April 20, 2024, 9:10 pmThe modern day equivalent of Garry Jack would be CNK at FB. Nice work a constillation try if I ever seen it, but helps the for and against

I reckon us playing 90 minutes last round and the Bronx playing Friday is a massive advantage.
Not saying it would have made a difference.

I’d like to see Levi play 80 here so we can stop wasting time with a back up 9 on the bench

Yeah mate they have a combined age of 37 and like 10 nrl games between themCanberra Milk wrote: ↑April 20, 2024, 9:10 pm Sorry to say, they're young, but Strange/Chevy seem MIA in the red zone
Re: 2024 Round 7 v Broncos: Game Day
Again though they are what 6th and 2nd game of first grade. This is what I’m concerned about most with the youth thing. They are going struggle for a couple of years and if we lose like this often then that is going to dent their confidenceCanberra Milk wrote: ↑April 20, 2024, 9:10 pm Sorry to say, they're young, but Strange/Chevy seem MIA in the red zone

Second time Savage has dropped it on the run, I would have looked to see him in open space

2 more tries to make it 34-22 and suddenly the night doesnt seem so bad!

Agreed. I think a stint back in NSW Cup will be good for him after experiencing the speed and physicality of NRL.Colk wrote: ↑April 20, 2024, 9:05 pmHe’s an 18 year old for god’s sake. Re: 2024 Round 7 v Broncos: Game Day
Tonight Raiders were beaten all over the Park.
The only bright spot was their first 20 minutes but with all that possession they failed to score.
Void of ideas especially when 20m out, this has been an issue for a long time.
I've watched every game and when they get under pressure or behind on the scoreboard they fold, panic make unforced errors.
Yes, we are still learning but tonight was a shackling and I'm not talking about the score.
AND, with Fogarty out for awhile...now what?

Re: 2024 Round 7 v Broncos: Game Day
Well yeah they are barely FGers and they have no halfback and the avg age of their 3/4s is 21...Canberra Milk wrote: ↑April 20, 2024, 9:10 pm Sorry to say, they're young, but Strange/Chevy seem MIA in the red zone
They should be lost.

I don’t know what the point of Starling is. He hasn’t looked good since about 2020.
