What do Hudson Young and Smithies offer?

Bit harsh on Smithies. He is a toiler who is in the middle of everything, his upside is obvious to me but he can't do it alone. Hudson on the other hand is lacking in all areas. His defence is horrible, his attack has no variation, he lacks size, footwork, strength, speed and power. He has peaked and is on the decline IMO.

What is it that you would say is Smithies upside?
Im very concerned about what im seeing in attack. You've got offer SOMETHING on that side of the ball. Cant just survive in FG because you're a great defender

The whole team got run off the park from the first 5 minutes. Sharks have about 5 gears the Raiders don’t and I doubt personnel changes make a heap of difference to that. I just dont think they have it in them to play with that intensity.

I'm loathe to go too hard on a young spine player trying to find his feet in firsts, but for a guy who's not particularly quick, agile, or large, Chevy Stewart will need to start bringing skill to the fore quickly. Being brave doesn't make you an NRL fullback.

I haven't seen anything in attack that suggests he will be a top tier FB or even better than CNK

He's not showing anything yet, hopefully a late bloomer in attack like Dugan was. Can't see him ever being a Walsh though

I couldn’t give a **** about losing the game. I had zero expectations and our spine has about 20 games of experience.

But being inexperienced doesn’t explain or excuse paper thin defence and the same putrid non-existent attacking structure we have seen for 10 years.

Sharks have done pretty much nothing special and will rack up 50 on us here.

That hazleton bloke just shrugged off Tapine and strolled over the line otherwise untouched. Is that the sort of footy that impresses you? Even Sharks fans would be sheepish about those sorts of soft tries.

It’s not fair to judge a defensive player when we don’t have a halfback so we then can’t attack. It’s not up to Morgan smithies to set up tries. He was playing a great role for the team when we had a general
