Bit harsh on Smithies. He is a toiler who is in the middle of everything, his upside is obvious to me but he can't do it alone. Hudson on the other hand is lacking in all areas. His defence is horrible, his attack has no variation, he lacks size, footwork, strength, speed and power. He has peaked and is on the decline IMO.
What is it that you would say is Smithies upside?
Im very concerned about what im seeing in attack. You've got offer SOMETHING on that side of the ball. Cant just survive in FG because you're a great defender

66th min Sharks defuse the Weekes kick, leaping the in goal. They get a seven tackle set. The vest ends with the Sharks knocking on over the line. They’ve ruled a line drop out against Canberra.

Lazy.

Very, very lazy
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

That'll do me. Switching it off. We are absolute garbage in every way right now.

Our attack has got absolutely nothing, defence is lazy and feeble, tactics are not existent. I think we're a solid chance at getting the spoon this year.

I think we might just ride our side off this year unless we can have a good hard look at the squad and make so hard decisions after that performance.

The whole team got run off the park from the first 5 minutes. Sharks have about 5 gears the Raiders don’t and I doubt personnel changes make a heap of difference to that. I just dont think they have it in them to play with that intensity.

I haven't seen anything in attack that suggests he will be a top tier FB or even better than CNK
He's not showing anything yet, hopefully a late bloomer in attack like Dugan was. Can't see him ever being a Walsh though

Put on a bunch of kids in the spine and watch the fan base sack the entire team for being rubbish. Must be the reason coaches don't like playing a bunch of rookies at the same time.

Mickey_Raider wrote: April 28, 2024, 5:26 pm I couldn’t give a **** about losing the game. I had zero expectations and our spine has about 20 games of experience.

But being inexperienced doesn’t explain or excuse paper thin defence and the same putrid non-existent attacking structure we have seen for 10 years.

Sharks have done pretty much nothing special and will rack up 50 on us here.
Nothing special?

They've owned the ruck and done the basics better.

They've outclassed a borderline NSW Cup side.

Take out Hynes, Kennedy and (ugh) Wilton do you think it's even?
That hazleton bloke just shrugged off Tapine and strolled over the line otherwise untouched. Is that the sort of footy that impresses you? Even Sharks fans would be sheepish about those sorts of soft tries.

Do you think we ought to not expect even a little better than that?

It’s not fair to judge a defensive player when we don’t have a halfback so we then can’t attack. It’s not up to Morgan smithies to set up tries. He was playing a great role for the team when we had a general

Not the younglings fault. We had chances and we blew them all. Our forward pack has been dominated and our defence has lacked effort
