The Greenhouse in Vegas

Post by hrundi89 »

Have I missed a thread on discussion re who is attending etc.?

I'll be in Sec C114, Row 14.

I'll be owing Nickman a few beers.

Where's everyone else going to be?

Pub/bar meet-up the day before?
You may remember me from such forum usernames as hrundi99 and... hrundi99.

For what its worth coming from someone who spends a little time in Vegas a couple of times per year just be prepared for the cost of everything as it is not cheap.
Don't expect much change out of $20 AUD for a beer in a plastic on the strip unless you get creative with finding the right places.
As a Packers fan i frequent Kickers Sports Bar and while a Uber/Lyft ride from the Strip it has a great atmosphere and cheap drinks from $2 US a beer upwards.
This place is somewhat a dive bar in an industrial area and you are required to be buzzed in I have never had anything but a great time there. I am sure if you reached out to them they would be happy to make it Raiders bar for the week and be very supportive. https://www.kickerslv.com/sports
It must be noted that i have no affiliation with the bar other then have been there a few times to watch sport and drink beer.

Feel free to contact me for any questions around Vegas as only happy to help were i can.

Just a general warning - be carful of exact details you post here. Not nice people scour these sort of forums to get info for scams and other such nefarious activity.
In its simplest format, posting the dates you are away - also lets them know what dates your house is empty....
And it gets meaner and more complex from there. Given access people have to other data about you from some rather large hacks.
Sorry to be a downer, and Shiv and the missues are going - but the world is not a nice place.

Brought to you by your friendly neighborhood Shiv

(which doesn't seem so friendly now that I re-read that)

Does he feel a little creeped out at those 1-2 QLD games? I’m guessing he feels creeped out. He’d definitely feel creeped out right?

I think the Raiders supporters bays at the end sold out. Should probably just get the best seats you can.

The wait to find out what time the direct flight leaves is doing my head in!
I need to book a replacement for work 😩

I feel for those coming up from Canberra, do you need a night in Sydney either end?

Might need a night at the airport hotel the night before departure. But yes, can’t book flights from Canberra to Sydney and back without knowing the NRL charter flight times.

I gave up buying jerseys a few years ago.... really how many do I need? But I quite like the look of this tee.

agreed - but then I emailed them to see if they have any Vegas specific stuff and got this response:

The Raiders will be launching a Vegas specific merchandise range from February 1st, so keep an eye out on our social media and Shop website for more information regarding the range and the launch.

I might be interested in a gridiron helmet if they make one. A quick google search shows a signed roosters one for about 4k. Not sure I'd want to spend that much and if I did I'd probably need to wear it while telling my wife how much it cost. She has her two children now so I'd probably need some protection in the Netherlands too.

Yes, I’d just gone searching. That’s going to be impossible. But we will have to work out a way.

Maybe ditch the Trip a Deal transfer to the hotel. Get Uber, drop bags, and get Uber to the field. It’s only 10 minutes from the airport to my hotel at least and then 15 minutes to the field.

I'll be in Vegas for the match and a few days around it. Might be nice to meet up with some fellow GH'er's...

I didn't seen an open training mentioned on the raiders Vegas page...

That is serious commitment GE and Cat. You’ll be jet lagged and tired. I’d say the better option is go to the hotel, grab a drink and fall asleep. Hats off to you I guess.

What else is there to do in Vegas on a Tuesday morning?

Plus, it's why we're going!
