2010 Rd 5 V Eels: Game Day and Post Match
Canberra Raiders V Parramatta Eels
700th match for Green Machine
Parramatta Stadium, Monday April 12 at 7.00pm
Referees: Ben Cummins and Gerard Sutton
WHAT’S AT STAKE
The Canberra Raiders will play their 700th Premiership match this weekend, when they take on the Eels at Parramatta Stadium.
The Raiders and the Eels are just one win a piece from their first four matches of the season, so expect a tough and physical contest on Monday night. The Green Machine welcomed back Adam Mogg last weekend and he’s expected to play a bigger role on Monday, as is Tom Learoyd-Lahrs who will get more game time from the bench this week.
STATS BOX
HEAD TO HEAD
Played 44, Raiders 20, Eels 24
At Parramatta Stadium. Played 19, Raiders 6, Eels 13
LAST 5 CLASHES
2009 – EELS 18 d. RAIDERS 16 at Parramatta Stadium
2008 – EELS 30 d. RAIDERS 12 at Parramatta Stadium
2007 – RAIDERS 38 d. EELS 10 at Canberra Stadium
– EELS 38 d. RAIDERS 6 at Parramatta Stadium
BIGGEST HEAD TO HEAD WINS
RAIDERS 68 d. EELS 0 at Canberra Stadium, 1993
EELS 54 d. RAIDERS 3 at Belmore, 1982
MATCH-UPS
Josh Dugan – Jarryd Hayne
Both Dugan and Hayne can hold the key for their respective sides, with Dugan getting better each week for the Raiders particularly in defence where he saves more tries than any other fullback. Hayne has been quiet by his high standards and will be a focal point of the Raiders defence Monday night.
David Shillington – Fuifui Moimoi
Shillington had his best game in green last weekend since arriving in Canberra and will be out to continue his form against the big Eels pack on Monday night. Moimoi is a battering ram for the Eels and will be used as an impact forward for Parramatta.
Joe Picker – Nathan Hindmarsh
Picker scored one and should have set up another last weekend against the Tigers and should get more game time this weekend after recovering from a virus. Picker is a strong forward who can create a chance for his outside man Jarrod Croker. Hindmarsh is a workhorse for Parramatta and expect him to have high involvement.
HE SAID IT – with David Shillington
“This is an important game for us. We need a win and I know how disappointed we were last weekend and we’re keen to make amends.”
WORTH NOTING
* This is the Raiders 700th premiership match
* Adam Mogg made a successful return last week
* The Raiders have not won at Parramatta in four years
* The Raiders Toyota Cup kicks off against the Eels at 4.45pm

Adam Mogg made a successful return last week
If you call letting Lawrence run through to score a try untouched successful i'd have to agree

First match of the season for me. Do members get reduced prices at the gate for away games?
Also, don't suppose anyone from the Gong has a spare seat for a lift home? Otherwise i've got 2.5hrs on ****.

I'm pretty sure the home team makes the decision. That's why Gold Coast will wear their white away jersey at home in the day time and make the other team wear their dark coloured jersey.yeh raiders wrote:Yeh how do they decide when to go with the Black jersey ? Re: 2010 Rd 5 V Eels: Game Day and Post Match
Never mind, to answer my own question, Tilse starting and Logan to the bench.
Interesting changes for the Eels too, Kris Keating off the bench to 5/8th, Mortimer to halfback, Robson to hooker and Matt Keating to the bench. Also Horo comes onto the bench, with Oake dropping out.

I have a good feeling about this game all of a sudden.
Three hot tips:
- Raiders to win by 13+
- Raiders score between 40-50 points
- Joel Thompson scores 4 tries

Good start, repeat set of six from our first set.
Re: 2010 Rd 5 V Eels: Game Day and Post Match
**** HARRISON
Re: 2010 Rd 5 V Eels: Game Day and Post Match
Not so good now, first Harrison too ambitious and now JT with a penalty.
Re: 2010 Rd 5 V Eels: Game Day and Post Match
McCrone stupid ball, lose possesion
Re: 2010 Rd 5 V Eels: Game Day and Post Match
Nice start Tilsey!
Re: 2010 Rd 5 V Eels: Game Day and Post Match
Another penalty, need to start taking advantage of this field possession.
Re: 2010 Rd 5 V Eels: Game Day and Post Match
Take note Harrison that is when you offload.
