Likewise, Hbomb
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

I was there. Spent 7 hours in and out of boredom, but Holm completely owning Rousey was worth it. That was quite the spectacle.

Can't fathom people who pay to watch this stuff, I've grown up on the sweet science and this just looks awkward brutality with no respect

I see the amazing skill on so many levels , all the different forms of martial arts.

There is a high level of respect between the fighters , its there to be seen.

Really? Jumping on someone who's down to further hammer their unprotected head, plenty of respect.

The serious brain injuries these fighters will be dealing with in years to come is enough for me to talk anyone out of participating in this brutal, senseless sport.

Just saying...

There are strict guidelines regarding knockouts. Im not sure what % of past fighters in the UFC have issues. Time will tell if the precautions are enough.

I get it isnt everyones cup of tea. I enjoy it , Id loved to be skilled enough to fight this way , or brave enough.

Being punched in the brain repeatedly over many years turns normal people in vegetables.

Haha I was only kidding boney, however the idea is that when someone stops protecting their head the fight is over, so theoretically there shouldnt be repeated shots. I guess thats why so many boxers dont have brain injuries

From Connor McGregor instagram

thenotoriousmmaThank you for all the kind messages!
I am extremely grateful and proud to be in the position I am in.
To the naked eye it was 13 seconds, but to my team and my family it has been a lifetime of work to get to that 13 seconds.
Congratulations to the staff at the UFC on a historic week in the sports history and an amazing 2015 for the company.
It is an honor to be playing a part in this great companies continued growth and success and an honor to top off a phenomenal week in the sports history.
Thank you to all the fans who travelled and made this week what it was!! The traveling Irish are untouchable when it comes to creating the atmosphere needed to make a week like this what it was!! I am forever blown away by the support of my country. We have changed the game forever!!! Respect to a great champion in Jose Aldo. The true greats will always overcome adversity.
I wish him and his loyal team well on their journey back. Much respect.
Thank you all!!!

I've had a man crush on the Diaz boys since I was fortunate to meet them in Vegas in 2011. Raw as ****, the two of them.

Very pleased with this weekend, with both the Raiders and Nate gettin' it done!

UFC Brisbane on Fox today

Rowdy Bec is fighting. She is one of my favorites.

Frank Mir is fighting Hunt.

Did you watch it?

How subdued was Hunt after the knockout!? Was as if he just put some bloke down in the park!

Ive watched the main card.

Hunt knew Mir wasn't getting up as soon as it connected . Mir has packed the weight on. Cant remember him being so sloppy.

Magny/Lombard fight was a cracker. You can be all muscle and not have the cardio to last.

Glad Bec won. She looked out on her feet too but she has had a long lay off from fighting which may have had an effect

Reports that McGreggor is hanging up the gloves - whether that's before or after 200, I'm not sure.

It comes from his Twitter where it definitely looks like he's trolling but some sources say it's true. I think he's trolling though..

It's legit - UFC pulled him from the fight because he wouldn't meet his promotional obligations. He's then thrown the toys out of the cot and retired.
