No I expect it's the one where you have a go at flood victims in Queensland.

I must have missed that quote. Can you dig it up for me?greeneyed wrote:No I expect it's the one where you have a go at flood victims in Queensland.
Re: 2011 Boogs nomination thread
I think you know what was said.
But don't worry... the Boogs this year will only be positive awards, so this one won't make a nomination!

I thought so, you got nothing, except lies and induendo (against me, a flood victim of all people)greeneyed wrote:I think you know what was said.

I'm sorry, but it's not like I have initiated anything, and I've only had slurs made against me. So time for some wake up time.

This is what you've been so worked up about GE?Greenbits wrote:Yep. I lived through the Brisbane floods and the Canberra fires and I know which was more devastating. The way they carry on up here you'd be excused for thinking they survived the Holocaustgreeneyed wrote:Really?Greenbits wrote:More of these nauseating qld flood ads. They carry on and then complain tourism has dropped off.
Its not the most politically correct of statements, but its hardly the blasphemy you'd have us believe it was. All this exaggerated moral outrage, try your hand in politics GE.
Re: 2011 Boogs nomination thread
Unbelievable huh. I'll admit it was a flippent ill-thought out comment which I just posted as comment during the half-time break (and now regret). However, it was never meant to have a go at actual flood victims, just these media companies which continually exploit it for their own agendas. If I've offended anyone, then I apologise.Sterlk wrote:This is what you've been so worked up about GE?Greenbits wrote:Yep. Re: 2011 Boogs nomination thread
GE just has his period around Origin time. God forbid if Queensland actually lose a series...
Re: 2011 Boogs nomination thread
God help us if QLD lose the series, the tears that will flow from GE will cause a flood in canberra that'd make the QLD floods look like a small puddle
Re: 2011 Boogs nomination thread

http://thegh.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php ... 15#p630815Decorous Muse wrote:It's simple, it only took me about 30 seconds to solve... but a fine riddle nonetheless. Anyway, the solution:
When we beat Melbourne in Melbourne, prior to the game Bay56 promised to never post in this forum again if we won. Buoyed by this, the team pummeled their way to one of the most triumphant victories us fans had seen in years, and they got that win. Days later, Bay56 posted again (breaking an oath). Slowly this great depression wore the team down and the form faded again.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago. Bay56 was insulted in a thread and got so upset about his 'support' being called into question that he left the greenhouse with little fanfare. At first the Raiders thought it was just wily old Bay up to his old tricks and the form stayed down. Then suddenly, a ray of hope. It seemed he had been away longer than he ever had before. Could it be? Robert was gone for good?
Confidence came back slowly, but at half time Monday night word trickled into the sheds that Bay wasn't posting on the internet about how bad the performance was and even the poor receptionist at the clubhouse had been let off the hook the last few weeks about his messages not getting passed on. With renewed vigor the team went out and played like the champions we all know they can be, and smashed the St George Illawarra Dragons into next season.
That, my friends, is the answer to the riddle that is Raiders 2011. Now that we've solved it, we can all book our tickets to the 2012 Grand Final... I fear that Bay's cold presence may have seeped into the core of this season a little too deeply.

What is so great about that avatar?
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

You're clearly not one of those people who believe that Seinfeld was the absolute pinnacle of TV excellence, and that standing in front of a store-front that was used as a location identifier in the show makes you cooler than anyone else in the history of the world.

Disappointed they didn't have a big salad, but I had delicious sundae.
