I'm delighted to announce, that getting a green jacket to join his brothers Raider_69, Edabomb and Greeneyed is... a great man, one who's contributed greatly to the GH over many, many years. He's contributed as a poster providing a sometimes different insight into the goings on of this great club, often with a cooler head than the rest of us.
As a moderator he's always been fair and just, careful to let the posters go about their business without impeding unless it really does cross the line and now as an administration, he continues to help steer the GH ship through waters that are sometimes troubling.
He's also the type of poster who puts his hand up for silly things like the Boogs when no one else is willing.

Well congratulations to all the winners, in particular to Red who is taking home two awards, despite using the same old boring and yet utterly convincing argument about defence for EVERTHING; and also RRA, well deserved, and especially TR for the Hall of Fame. Thank you to all, and all the other winners, and all you other losers too (!) for enriching the life experience that is The Greenhouse. If it weren't for all of you, I'd be going mad on some other website. I'd much rather do it here.
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Not sure what happened here but congrats to the winners. Particular congrats to the newer posters who have added a great deal to this forum the last couple of years.
