How about that New Coke rebranding of the 80s?

Will Canberra Milk and Raiders jerseys be the new University course standard for first year Marketing students.

Oh everyone? Everyone knew these things would go like absolute hotcakes? Not a single person didnt see this coming? Gotcha

Now make it the default jersey for the rest of time.
That's a pretty big financial boon for the club though. Awesome.
 yeah, it's a bit like that.

Nice for the club to be pleasantly surprised though. I can only assume a very small portion of their forecast 8-10k of jerseys sold would be the non-retro strips.

If the sales forecast is up 120% on last year's sales, we must have sold around 4000 jerseys last season.

Based on the sea of green at the 2019 grand final, the club could quite seriously expect to sell 20,000+ of these suckers if we make the grand final this year.

The forecast would have been on a long term average based on pre season sales.

I knew it would be popular, but 120% year on year in a couple of months is nuts

With that sort of revenue, the Raiders should be paying Canberra Milk to be our sponsors.

This has been the biggest sponsorship heist in the history of professional sports.

They'll be shocked next year if the rumour of Toyota Forklifts taking over as major sponsor is true.

That jersey will be ugly with a big red square on the front

Yeah, I'm not too keen on that one.

I usually buy my jerseys when they are half price at the end of the season. In fact, I've only ever bought 2 full price jerseys in my life...this one and the 1989 Woodger's one.

Oh, and I got given the 2019 one as a gift.

Bit of a fair weather fan really.

120 per cent is a forecast increase for the whole year.

Surely there would be a few awkward glances around the marketing team when they saw the breakdown of heritage/home/away jerseys sold.

And not a single soul outside of that team should be surprised. I rarely ever buy new jerseys let alone ones priced $160 and yet I had a visceral need to purchase this one.

Take my money I don't care it is just so beautiful.

If they were a $30-40 training jersey I don't mind them....but they aren't and therefore I do mind them.

The Raiders’ 2021 heritage jersey has sold out twice before the season, with 5000 already sold. The club projects a record 8-10,000 jersey sales, producing a 120 percent rise in merchandise sales this year.

“We have sold out. We can’t keep up with sales. We have had to place more orders. We have no stock before the season starts. We have sold way more than we first thought,” said Raiders chief executive, Don Furner.

Yikes. Bit of a disconnect with your fanbase there, Don.

Perhaps some fan consultation would help you next time. Absolute no brainer that this jersey would go like **** hotcakes, especially during this phase of being genuine contenders.

ISC ended deals with 7 NRL clubs last season.

The one they did stay with just happened to have what will probably be the highest selling NRL jersey ever.

Who knows if that was out of design of luck.

Is it going to be Toyota Forklifts or just straight Toyota? For a front of jersey sponsorship I would have thought it would be big Toyota not Toyota subsidiary.

Toyota sponsors the Cowboys so I doubt it

I think the forklift division is basically a brand in itself

I'm pretty sure the Toyota sponsorship of the Cowboys is the North Queensland area dealerships - not actually direct from the Toyota corporation.

I'd imagine a sponsorship from their forklifts would be similar, where they'd just slap on a big Toyota logo, or have it and the words 'forklifts' in smaller print below.

I'm fairly certain the joke was about Video Ezy being our sponsor, and you blundered head first into it.

It doesn't read like purely a joke to me - it read like afgjkhjh was a fan of the jersey and threw the joke in at the end. Happy to be ridiculed if I'm wrong, but I think you're the one in this case with dubby all over your face.

It would seem strange if Toyota Forklifts were our sponsor. Normally sponsors are products that everyday people can purchase. I can't say I am really in the market for a forklift no matter how much I appreciate them supporting the Raiders.

I suspect most members and fans are in the same boat.

Generally yes, Manly is sponsored by a renewable waste company.

Then again it doesn't make a lot of sense for Canberra Milk to sponsor us either. I doubt many people are changing their milk preference based on a sponsorship. Majority of people who buy Canberra Milk would because it's a local brand.

That is why it is not a long term sponsorship. Canberra Milk is a product that can't be bought by many people who see the brand on TV. They will get lots of free publicity and goodwill out of this year.

In many ways that is why it is loved. It is a unique Canberra brand and a very inoffensive product. (Maybe vegans feel differently) Personally I can't taste the difference between Canberra Milk and the homebrand Woolworths milk we normally buy. It is also not really a product that you buy more or less of as your circumstances change.

Clearly it has resulted in increased merchandise sales. Will be interested to see if it results in increased Canberra Milk sales.
