Re: 2021 Canberra Raiders Junior Representatives
The game will be available to watch on replay on the NSWRL Facebook page. Anyone who is reading this later on - as Molly Meldrum would say - do yourself a favour.
Well done to Steve for his updates. I was just giving my ramblings.

Final score in the other semi final.
Illawarra Steelers 42 defeated Sydney Roosters 32.
So both teams who had the week off got beat.
By my reckoning the grand final next week is Canberra v Illawarra 4th v 6th.
However after my shocker last week I suggest you wait for Steve’s update before we have that confirmed.

We played Illawarra at Belconnen earlier in the season when Clarkson and Savage went down. We won 36-10 and I thought we pretty comfortably had their measure but clearly they have improved.

Sadly, yes. But I will be going!
One hell of an exciting game today. Great attack in the opening period, and then just gutsy football in the second half, after the Sea Eagles pulled out some dirty tactics. I was grateful for the live stream today... but I’d have been even more grateful for one that didn’t fail every five minutes.
Re: 2021 Canberra Raiders Junior Representatives
Yeah they will play all three grades at the one place
It is Parra v Manly in Harold Matts (u17s)
And Roosters Indigenous v Dragons in the Tarsha Gale girls.

Any word on where the GF will be played? Back at Leichhardt again?

Recent venues for the Grand Final...badonkadonk wrote: ↑April 24, 2021, 5:07 pm Any word on where the GF will be played? Back at Leichhardt again?
2019 Western Sydney Stadium
2018 Leichhardt Oval
2017 Leichhardt Oval
2016 Panthers Stadium
2015 Leichhardt Oval
So Leichhardt is probably a good bet. The other semi final today was played at HE Laybutt Field, Blacktown.
Re: 2021 Canberra Raiders Junior Representatives
Expect it will be Leichhardt. They have been playing a lot of finals at Parramatta but there is A league there next Saturday.greeneyed wrote: ↑April 24, 2021, 5:21 pmRecent venues for the Grand Final...badonkadonk wrote: ↑April 24, 2021, 5:07 pm Any word on where the GF will be played? Re: 2021 Canberra Raiders Junior Representatives
Made a last minute decision to go to the game, and didn’t regret it - just down the road from me. One of the better quality junior games I have seen, and that includes Toyota Cup. Some great attacking play in the first half, and some incredible scramble to hold Manly out at the end, though I thought if they held the ball in that final set, we were gassed. Some thoughts:
* Esera played well, but I don’t see what position he will play if he makes the step to firsts. I heard he was a second rower, but I don’t think he has the mobility. Hope the game doesn’t keep speeding up, as it will keep players of his body type out. I thought Mooney took a bunch of tough carries in the second half.
* Savage is very impressive. Not just his speed (which is useful in defence as well), he puts his hand up for carries and is generally competitive on plays he is involved in. I thought our other winger was strong too, some good carries out of trouble. Savage looked injured at the end, looked like he was limping.
At the ground they said the Grand Final will be at Leichhardt Oval.

Canberra Raiders edge out Manly Sea Eagles
Canberra Raiders have booked their spot in the SG Ball Cup Grand Final with a 20-18 victory over Manly Sea Eagles on Saturday. With the Raiders finishing the season as the most potent attacking side in the competition, and the Sea Eagles finishing as the best defensive side, the first semi-final proved to be an entertaining one.
Defence was impressive from both sides in the second half with only Manly scoring through fullback Kaeo Weekes, after he was able to capitalise on a quick play the ball by throwing a dummy and crashing over on the left edge.

Still surprised they didn't get at least one player selected in the NSW Country U19 side.

Re: 2021 Canberra Raiders Junior Representatives
Not at all surprised that Noah Saddler won the most improved. Maybe slightly surprised at Asomua, but he has been absolutely outstanding on the wing. Certainly a great recognition from his fellow players. He was epic in the Grand Final.

Noah Martin will be able to back up again in Harold Matts in 2022. The mullet might get the snip by then.
