I remember MrPosh has mentioned him over the years- rates him.
Be a big risk whether his defence could cope. Starling wouldn't be much over 5'6 in real life (not necessarily nrl stats) but he's a mini ball of muscle.
I think tabbing a fringe forward who if signed might play some footy off the bench as our to be the “aggressive tone setting leader” is probably a bit too much myself

You don't think he should take Big Red's role?
I think he’s a bit too fit and athletic to take on Hors’s role

Not too many players struggle at two clubs and suddenly come good at a third.
Some of our better recent signings would arguably fall into that category. Havilli, CHN, BJ…. I reckon there’s good value to be found if the players have some other standout traits.
Id sign Hetherington in a heartbeat. Reminds me of Mark Geyer. Has heaps more potential than a player like hola for instance. At 25 years his best years are in front of him.

Not sure I agree about struggling, at least on the field.
CHN was a gun at Penrith, also played pretty good footy at the atrocious dogs. Represented NZ. If anything he was probably a better player then than what he has shown for us, but he’s still good.
BJ was also a very talented player but had attitude and off field problems that were his undoing. His form ramped up a notch with us though.
Havili also played rep footy for Tonga and NZ before he joined us. We got the best out of him no doubt, but I don’t think any of the 3 were really “strugglers”
I like Hethrington as a Second rower than a forward. I like what we have done with red in taking an aggressive front rower and had him concentrate not on bashing the opposition but on focusing on his link up play. It's something that could help Hethringtons game also. He will always be aggressive but if all you want out of him is aggressive play he will end up out of control.
Ppl suggesting Jack Hetherington would be a worthwhile pick up should go and look at the number of runs he makes as a prop, and his meters gained (and post-contact) stats over the last few years. He defends with mongrel, but is a bottom tier forward for ball carrying. He did look a bit more threatening on an edge where he was asked to run at halfbacks 4 times a game - but he seems to lack balance or core strength or something. It doesn't take much of a hit to stop him.
If there is one player from the doggies we should be going after it’s Burton !!
If we could have 6 - Burton, 7 - Fogerty and 13 - Wighton we would be so much more dangerous in attack.
This isn’t going to happen ofcourse unfortunately

Geez.... suggesting Wighton to be moved will get you hung around here

Dr Greenthumb wrote:Yes to Burton if he decides to leave the dogs, but to play centre. It’s arguably our weakest position and I think he’s played his best footy there.
No sure about Hetherington because we’ve already go too many players with a low footy IQ.
At the price you would have to pay to get Burton you would be putting your salary cap out of whack if you were to play him in the centres. Especially with Croker still on the books.

We should have a crack at Reed Mahoney. Change of coach at the Dogs, he might have second thoughts about going there.
Yep I'd support that. He's unreal. Plus it would be piss funny us getting reed and them getting hodgo.
