Overall I've been pleasantly surprised at the quality of games so far this year, and this weekend has some really interesting match ups.

Yep. A good balance in the game at the moment.

Unfortunately, Just wait until some of the leading coaches work out what they can do to manipulate the current interpretations for their teams advantage.

Geez I thought that sin binning against the Dragons was harsh and inconsistent.

Agreed. They copped 2 sinbins last week which I also thought were harsh.

Hynes looks pretty good in the halves. Thankfully we have a war chest for next year. The majority of this forum was urging our boneheaded club to throw him an offer.

Another tough call there. Ikuvalu wasn't going for the ball there - just takes out Ravalava. TBF Ravalava probably drops it anyway.

Love how he plays. If only we’d been on our toes instead of being flat footed.

Reece Walsh reminds me of Kevin Locke
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

I guess that Tigers "try" they didn't check will be very controversial now... I don't think he grounded it myself. No control.

Can’t say the rule about kicks can’t come from the heel was not at the forefront of my mind. I have seen the ball heeled before, but maybe not a drop kick attempt. Perhaps the ball was already on the ground.

That goal line defence very unlike the Roosters.

He’s dropped it! The Roosters lucky, twice now.

A few months ago I was having an interesting chat with a colleague, we talk football for hours. Unfortunately he is a Manly supporter.

I mentioned that Roosters were a good chance this year, after blooding a lot of players last year and he thought the opposite. He was adamant that they would slide because they've been at the top for so long, with the same core of players - playing about 30 tough games a year and their core players are burnt out. This was the reason, he said, that they suffered so many injuries last year. They play a tough high energy defensive style and it is potentially unsustainable unless you turnover your playing group. He thought they'd miss the 8 or go very close to missing the 8.

They probably should have missed the 8 last year but there was a massive gap between the top 3 or 4 teams and the rest. I think they have too many good players to miss the 8 this year because they'll win those games that they should win.

The “try” that they didn’t look at?

What are they saying it should have been? Just a knock no 7 tackle set? Because I agree with you that he lost it from the replay I saw.
