Re: 2022 Rd 10 V Sharks: Teams and Previews
I hope the NRL issues an edict on players in possession using their forearms against defenders. We have been on the receiving end two weeks in a row now and the Sharks have some players who don't mind using niggle, Fifita, Ramien etc.
I don't know that JC will be available. His right shoulder unfortunately causing him to leave the field last night. My initial view of CNK was that he also had done significant damage to his leg. Later reports indicate maybe it was not as bad as suspected.
CNK
Cotric
Timoko
Kris
Rapana
Frawley
Schneider
Papa
Elliott
Tapine

I think Schneider's done his dash for now, but can spare him his blushes and wait until Wighton's back before dropping him. Then it's Frawley for me
Otherwise Savage in, and a proper lock either Rushton or Mooney
Very concerned about Whitehead's fitness. How could he be on his haunches for 4 tackles in a row with 20 to go... Possibly we can just play him lock for the first 25-30, then Elliott subs in there, and Whitehead stays off for the remainder. Harsh for the captain but if he's not fit, he's not fit

Yeah it looked like the honey moon period is over for Schneider as far as the other players are concerned. Tapine and Rapana happy to give him a serve.
I agree that Frawley will get a few rounds at 7, if Fogarty isn't back early.

Saw something earlier in the year saying Fogarty was aiming for a round 10 return.
Re: 2022 Rd 10 V Sharks: Teams and Previews
Did that need to be repeated 11 times?

has anyone heard if Fogarty is back for round 10?
Re: 2022 Rd 10 V Sharks: Teams and Previews
Raiders always put a few extra week's on the return time of players.
Has anyone seen him around the training ground??

Re: 2022 Rd 10 V Sharks: Teams and Previews
As I alluded to in the game day thread, the Bulldogs game really highlighted to me the lack of pace in our line up. A team consisting of CNK, Rapana, Cotric, Croker, Frawley, Schneider, Whitehead and Elliott is so slow and we nearly got found out on multiple occasions. Having Savage in there, in a position to get his hands on the ball is crucial. Croker and Semi's injury is a good excuse to try in CNK in the centres. I think Rushton too, as well as Mooney however I know it's all a pipe dream.
Elliott will be named at 9 too, however let's be real it's only a matter of time before we're all baying for his demotion after any decent team works out he is not a 9. We should just bite the bullet and have Trev in there. Elliott has earned a reprieve in terms of having a spot in the 17 and I believe that should be as a starting lock. Off the bench he is a bit of a donkey.

@ Canberra Milk... I felt sorry for Brad on Friday night... he's not really being given the ball. Frawley had 40 receipts and Schneider 25. That's with 60 per cent possession.

Re: 2022 Rd 10 V Sharks: Teams and Previews
I agree with everything here but I heard that Trev tore his hammy quite badly so I wouldn't expect him to be ready to go. Therefore, Elliot will have to go to starting 9 and a new lock to come in. I'd be ok with Young getting a start at lock as he's had some good games there. Mooney or Hola to come in. That said, I'm expecting to see the same team with someone (probably Schiller) coming in for Croker.Raider47 wrote: ↑May 8, 2022, 9:30 am As I alluded to in the game day thread, the Bulldogs game really highlighted to me the lack of pace in our line up. Not surprised. Frawley looked lime he wanted the ball more. Schneider looks down on confidence which is affecting his decision making and communication with the players around him. You can see that he has the right tools in his kit, just not using them well right now. When Wighton is back Schneider could benefit from a stint in NSW Cup to find his mojo. He's not going to get it in 1st grade the way it's playing out at the moment.

I reckon those receipts would have been close to even with 20/30 to go though.
Frawley got more ball after Schneider fluffed a few options, it wasn't his best performance that's for sure after he looked promising earlier in the season.

Today's game will either wipe out the sharks tanks and they will be sluggish or put wind in their sails and a belief they can win anything

If there is anyone who still has any doubts that we should have mortgaged the leagues club to get Nico Hynes I suspect even they will see how good he is next week

Early in the first half a gap opened up for him as we attacked right, from about the 15-20m out mark... he didn't run at it. Was a tad disappointing as they just sat on his passes and smashed them after that point. Felt like he just didn't take his chance.
He's a had some good games and some flat ones.
