The Canberra Raiders have named their team for the round 12 match against the Parramatta Eels on Sunday afternoon at Canberra Stadium in NRL Indigenous Round.
Jamal Fogarty will become Raider #384 after being named at halfback for the club. It will be his first game since injuring his knee in the Raiders trial match against Manly earlier in the season. Fogarty replaces Brad Schneider at halfback.
Xavier Savage will start at fullback for the injured Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, who will miss six weeks after scans revealed a high hamstring injury.
Jarrod Croker also returns to the side in the centres from a shoulder injury, with Sebastian Kris moving to the interchange bench.
The Raiders are proud to have five Indigenous players representing the club for this year’s Indigenous round, with Xavier Savage (Indigenous, Torres Strait), Jack Wighton (Indigenous), Jamal Fogarty (Indigenous), Adam Elliott (Indigenous) and Sebastian Kris (Torres Strait), all named this weekend.

Yep, he really didn't do much wrong against the Sharks and there was no good reason that I could see to drop him. Looks like he had a big game in NSW Cup on the weekend too! That said, I think he can give us more than he has been this year and maybe this dropping can spur him on to go up a level. He's a good player and has got it in him. Hopefully he's back soon.

Kris unlucky. Croker did look good in his one game, but it was only one game
CHN extremely unlucky...
Otherwise great to see Fog back and Savage at 1

Very interesting to see whether Savage will remain at fullback throughout the whole match. And if how our side looks with Fogarty, we only got to see 40mins of him at 7.
Re: 2022 Rd 12 V Eels: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
Really excited to see Fog get on the field
Re: 2022 Rd 12 V Eels: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
Kris couldn’t have done much more last week - a fairly dominant performance with and without the ball.
No idea why you’d put Croker back in

Re: 2022 Rd 12 V Eels: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
I'm surprised Fog is back this early. I also thought Croker would be given a couple more weeks to make sure that shoulder is alright. If it's not 100% he'll end up like Turbo and be gone for the season if he's not careful. Did CHN run over Sticky's cat or something?

Re: 2022 Rd 12 V Eels: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
I thought Croker looked pretty good in his one game but I don’t think Kris deserved to get dropped or demoted after his last two performances
Kris in at centre and CHN in over Elliott would be the only changes I’d make to that team

He should now be given a good six weeks in the role, and properly now.thevikingclap on ig wrote: ↑May 24, 2022, 4:16 pm Very interesting to see whether Savage will remain at fullback throughout the whole match. And if how our side looks with Fogarty, we only got to see 40mins of him at 7.

Records silly! Sure it means a proud indigenous player doesn’t get to run out for the kick off in Indigenous Round, but individual glory is on the line here mate. There is no room for sentiment sorry Sebastian!

Rough for Kris to have to take a step back after his recent form but he'll provide good coverage off the bench. Not sure what CHN has done to deserve the drop back either.
Wighton kicked well last week but the Eels would have been all over him if we went with the same plan. Their kick pressure is far better. Fogarty is a big in and now we've got some good depth behind him.

It’s just that it’s so often cited “Rick doesn’t change winning teams” as justification for him keeping spuds in there week to week.
Yet now, when we’ve actually had two good wins on the bounce (and haven’t exactly done a whole lot of winning outside of that), we make changes? First CHN out of last week’s team, now Kris out of this one? Are there double standards at play??

I'm mostly happy with the team... CHN being out is curious, I feel it's more likely to be the guy has no filter and said something to upset Stuart than him being dropped for form, after all Elliot is still in the side.
Good things, back on the bench, Fogarty back, Woolford starting, I worry our bench props are going to get minced but Horsburgh was in good form. Whitehead needs to step up a few gears, I certainly would have had CHN there over him.
