78th min Munster again saves the day, defuses the NSW kick at the back.

79th min Great break Harry Grant, but somehow NSW hold on now.

What a game. Hope the rest of the series is up to that standard.

Very gutsy effort from QLD. Blues were the better team first half and Munster really stepped up in the second

Got pretty sick of seeing the Cleary dummy and run play. Selfish.

Best part is Paps will be nice and fresh for Saturday. Hopefully Jack is OK after a massive game.

Mostly terrible from NSW.
If 2020 didn’t expose Freddy, tonight did.
Can’t ever afford to not pick the best team available in an Origin game.
QLD were good, deserving winners. Pushed the rules in typical Slater fashion and it worked a treat.

Great game. Outstanding coaching by Slater.
Jack was outstanding. Probably NSW best with Tedesco.
Papa was great in his first stint and played his role. I don’t think he will get huge minutes with the way QLD play, they are all about speed.

Re: 2022 State of Origin I: Blues V Maroons
Great game…not the result for NSW…
Teddy, Wighton and To’o were NSW’s best…
QLD bench was the difference…
You’d think Freddy will recall Mitchell for Staggs…not sure who comes in for Matterson and Sims who were abysmal..

Re: 2022 State of Origin I: Blues V Maroons
I questioned him early but Slater's composure down the stretch and in game was exceptional.Crash Ball wrote: ↑June 8, 2022, 10:10 pm Great game. Outstanding coaching by Slater.

He had a lot to overcome and pulled the right levers. Great job and well earned win

Re: 2022 State of Origin I: Blues V Maroons
Yeah Tedesco was really good too.
NSW back row, halves and middle weren't up to it. Left side looked good.

Re: 2022 State of Origin I: Blues V Maroons
Panthers halves were very unimaginative. But credit to QLD completely nulified them and they may just have to cop it that they were shut out.
Papa's mins were odd but guess you can't question it after the result.
Jack was immense.

Re: 2022 State of Origin I: Blues V Maroons
Slater is going to be a better coach than he was a player. And he was one of the best players. QLD so motivated and clever to tonight. Munster the best player in the world, no doubt. I reckon NSW will come back and win the series. Wighton was insane except for that one error caused by who else but Munster. Great game of rugby league.
Re: 2022 State of Origin I: Blues V Maroons
Agree. Took me back to Origin of the late 80s and early 90s (in comparison to NRL of the same day).Azza wrote:One of the best rugby league matches I've seen in a long time

All the panfers players stunk it up big time, especially crichton.
Jack also well and truly shut the haters up, was probably NSWs best

Cameron Munster has been named the official man of the match.
Josh Papalii played for only 22 minutes. Four runs for 35 metres, 10 post contact metres, one tackle break, 20 tackles. one penalty conceded. Interchanged after 15 minutes, played the last five minutes.

Literally cost them the game by getting stuck with the ball on the 4th tackle right on full timeSeiffert82 wrote:Got pretty sick of seeing the Cleary dummy and run play. Selfish.

Re: 2022 State of Origin I: Blues V Maroons
I have no doubt Slater will be a great coach… the NRL team that locks him up will have a gem provided the management upstairs is well organised too..
