I agree, it look like NSW had to work hard for our try’s and Queensland just needed a bit of field position for score one.

Great second half.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Wighton unlucky getting Covid. May have cost him any future Blues jerseys, despite being their best player in game 1.

Burton can’t be dropped, offers a great kicking option along with Cleary. 14 jersey now taken by a hooker. Hard to fit him back in now.

Having a centre who can properly ball play is so helpful in this modern game.
Burton looked like a seasoned campaigner…

Worst case he takes Talakai’s spot but i’d expect he starts for Crichton. Freddy rightfully loves him for Origin.

Both burton and Wighton are better centres then they are 5/8’s.

Crichton was good. Jack was good game 1. Maybe the Penrith connection could come into it.

Jack Wighton walks back into the team and Burton holds his position
I thought tonight clarified very much that game 3 should be Wighton and Burton

And limited time for Papalii. The qld forwards were tired but not replaced

Yeah a good game! Who do you see getting up from here Red?
Sorry Billy, I went to get a beer and then the game came on and I didn't get back to the GH. Go the Blues. Deciders at Lang Park favour Qld but it again should be a fast paced high quality match with game breakers on both sides. I love Origin. The intensity of the tackling with players in possession being driven backwards to break momentum. What difference Jurbo made in the middle of the park. Very good defensively. Cleary showed his skills all match and Munster had some good moments but was quiet by his standards. I can't wait for Game 3.

Burton is such a classy footballer…
In a better team, he could kill it at 5/8…
Wouldn’t be surprised if the Roosters try pinch him at some point…he’ll get sick of losing at the dogs..

He came off the bench and didnt impact the game, replacing a bad selection
He started today and was frankly bad.
Burton was a stud out there, Wighton was the blues best in game 1.
No need to overcomplicate it... if Turbo or Latrell are back fine, one of those guys can move to #14 and send cook packing.

If he was a Blue, he’d get double the minutes.

Yeah I don’t see him being an automatic selection in future years, despite still being a very good player. I think this year is more of a token selection. Billy clearly wants smaller mobile agile forwards who can punch out bigger minutes. He’s almost a wasted selection with how he’s been used thus far.

I dont think that is right
I think he misuses him. He wants him to be a short term high impact player
Big runs, huge hits. Set a tone and let others take it over. He is asking him to lead the defensive line, give it his all and check out and let the rest take care of itself

It's a rare critic of slater, but thats not Papa. He's a workhorse who just grinds you into the dust. Papa will burn out quickly if you ask to do that. But IMO, slater is miscasting him. You have to give him minutes
Tonight without Cotter, they needed his moter imo

Really like Slater but he's not used Papalii correctly imo

Papa put a couple of good early shots on including bending Haas in two. He had a couple of solid carries without anything exceptional. There were any points in the game where I felt he’d come on and turn the game. The game is pretty quick these days.

Burton, Wighton and Mitchell all play at left center. I don't know that Mitchell will have the match fitness to play but stranger things have happened. I reckon Jack will be moved to the right center position with Burton staying on the left. This will leave the Burton/To'o left side intact. Crichton's forward pass from dummy half may sway Freddy's decision. If a player has over run you, don't pass it to him. Jack is a better defender than Crichton imo so that may sway the call his way.

Agree, but if Mitchell is fit he’ll start on the right and Jack will be on the bench…
Not saying I’d do that, I’m saying I think Fitler will do it..
