Corey Harawira-Naera looking for bigger Raiders role
Canberra forward Corey Harawira-Naera says he’s got plenty more to offer the Raiders after notching two tries off the bench in their comeback win against the Warriors.
“I don’t know how (coach Ricky Stuart is) gonna work it in the next few weeks, but I feel like it’d be a good idea if Elliott (Whitehead’s) old body isn’t getting bashed around every week and to try and give him a little bit of a spell,” he said. “But I’m happy to play anywhere, centre, back row, middle, wherever ‘Stick’ wants to chuck me.

Tapine and Tino set for heavyweight bout
A colossal battle between Joe Tapine and Tino Fa'asuamaleaui on Saturday should get fans salivating.
"That'll be a good match-up, big Tino and 'Taps' going at it, I'll have front row seats to watch that," he said. "It's a group effort, you can't take him one-on-one, I'll be looking to get the big boys around me and we'll look to get in his face early so he doesn't get a roll on.

It appears he had pneumonia.greeneyed wrote: ↑July 27, 2022, 11:43 amThe club has not said. It was reported early on he had not tested positive to COVID. But I guess it’s possible to later test positive.Butters wrote: ↑July 27, 2022, 11:29 amDid Horse eat a bad sausage again or def COVID this time?greeneyed wrote: ↑July 26, 2022, 8:42 pmSchiller not selected in any team, Valemei selected in NSW Cup. Suggests Valemei won’t go to the Gold Coast.Ultima wrote: ↑July 26, 2022, 8:33 pm Absolutely crazy that Whitehead is still there... Also surprised Hopoate is there over Schiller. Hopate did good, but Schiller was exceptional the week before and is apparently healed up.
Anyone else worried that Valemei was put in the reserves suddenly? He hasn't been in there recently.... I guess maybe that shows Schiller isn't healed up enough?
Apparently Horsburgh lost so much weight during his illness, he still hasn’t recovered.

Re: 2022 Rd 20 V Titans: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
The other part of this equation is that it means Timoko is back on his natural right side, where he looks dangerous basically every time he touches the ball. There is a long way to go, but when you add Schiller, Hopoate and HSS our backline is looking much stronger than 12 months ago.Canberra Milk wrote: ↑July 27, 2022, 9:12 pmThat's true, comparing Savage/Kris to CNK/Valemei, it feels much better now, and dare I say more in the Raiders DNA of speed over bulkHong Kong Raider wrote: ↑July 27, 2022, 6:14 pm I think Savage has done really well since coming into the team. We wouldn't have scored Kris's try or the try on the right hand side v Melbourne w/o him. I've really enjoyed watching him play and when CNK was in the side we were getting nowhere. It seems ages ago that we started with CNK and Semi in the side. He gives another focal point in attack and takes pressure of the halves. He can improve on ball handling and defence but is only a young player.
We can also make half or full breaks from kick returns now.
That we wasted 8 weeks on the Semi Valemei experience to start the year was Matt Elliot level selection incompetence, but there is some reason for optimism nonetheless.

Once in Stickys good books it is for certain that selection remains on the cards regardless of form. CHN comments on EW are tongue in cheek but also instructive.

That's just the famous Sticky stubbornness/single mindedness in action. I'm sure he views himself as just loyal (to who he likes)

Yep, very gentle but pointed public comments for a player to make about his teammate.RedRaider wrote:Once in Stickys good books it is for certain that selection remains on the cards regardless of form. CHN comments on EW are tongue in cheek but also instructive.

This is a must win game.. Kudos to Ricky and the team for turning our season around. Still much improvement needed but from where we were it's been a terrific turn around

Not popping champagne haha... I think we will finish 9th.. Still we are the only team outside of the 8 to turn our season around. 7 from the last 10 is good form and we are playing good footy while introducing a bucket load of talent at the same time. The Nickman wrote: ↑July 28, 2022, 1:06 pm Yeah, maybe let's not pop the champagne just yet, hey?

Don't you guys remember when losing was the best thing for the side? Remember when we were going to win the spoon and not win another game and that was 10 games ago

I love the myth that seems to get propagated on here that fans for some reason want the team to lose.
It's the exact opposite, we're pissed off because the team IS losing, not the other way around!

In fact, you might even say it's posters like Raiders666 who are truly happy with the team losing... what an incredible irony.

I along with the majority tipped us to finish in the bottom half of the comp and we are playing accordingly. I'm happy we are a decent side with finals hopes at this stage of the seasonThe Nickman wrote: ↑July 28, 2022, 1:57 pm In fact, you might even say it's posters like Raiders666 who are truly happy with the team losing... what an incredible irony.

Raides666 that's not that many mate. Thats 13 posts a day. You've made more posts in this thread already today making a fool of yourself.
Don't rate Savage after 15 games? The literal child that should by right still be playing colts in the local comp? That since his injection into the attach we have won 7 of 10 games, and almost won us an eighth game against Brisbane? Puh-lease. Maybe you really are the Raiders devil. Grow up mate.

Hang on hang on...Am I not allowed to rate a player? This place is amazing....It was only a month or so ago Pigman said he didn't rate Selwyn Cobbo. Where was all the hate he copped? Hopefully savage proves me wrong sorry for having an opinion that differs from the norm guys. So sorry

I mean isn't Horse the worst player to ever pull on a green jersey Nickman? Opinions and all that...
Re: 2022 Rd 20 V Titans: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
You are allowed to rate any player as you would like, the same way I am allowed to rate your rating. Not rating Savage highly, as raw as he is, is quite the mistake. Am I not allowed to say so? Or does the freedom of speech only apply to the contrarian view?

Huge Mick Black!
Maybe Raiders666 needs to go and spend some time with his family to get over the big sad he's packing
