Rapa and Tarps would have to be 2 of the most undisciplined players in the NRL who lack the ability to get away with anything. Talking up niggle and spite does not in anyway play into our favour.

Yeah, this is actually a thing.Billy Walker wrote:Rapa and Tarps would have to be 2 of the most undisciplined players in the NRL who lack the ability to get away with anything. Talking up niggle and spite does not in anyway play into our favour.
Hopefully the focus is to beat them with good football. Getting sucked into the niggle and payback does nothing but play into Penrith's hands.

Tapines discipline on the whole has been pretty good lately. He did lash out last weekend but on the whole much improved. I mean he once got suspended for shoulder charging a player standing outside the field of play.
Rapana is the dictionary definition of loose unit though.
CHN is way more undisciplined than Joe and the ref's absolutely have him on the tip sheet for dumb stuff in the ruck. He gets away with nothing.

Honestly can't see how we lose this game...Should be a relatively comfortable win

I agree Tarps has improved his discipline overall. As has Young.
CHN is struggling with it- but he's been chopped and changed and dropped and redropped and he seems to end up at square 1 each time.
Rapa is allowed to be Rapa, because of his 2016-2019 run. I wonder how hard it is to put discipline into Savage when Jordy Raps can do whatever he likes. To be fair, Jordy tries his craziness in attack and does all the hard yards in defence, if he loses it is through over exuberant contact rather than fiddling in the ruck etc.

The 'unnamed senior raiders official' story by the mole sounds made up to me.

Powder keg: Clap mockery to fire up Raiders in a grudge match
Penrith fans stand accused of making a “mockery” of Canberra’s Viking Clap this year while Raiders coach Ricky Stuart “won’t forget” the “bad blood” between his club and the Panthers.
“Everyone knows what type of coach ‘Sticky’ (Stuart) is — he won’t forget those incidents. There will be things in the past that will motivate them during the week,” said former Raiders skipper Simon Woolford. “Knowing ‘Sticky’ and the team, I’m sure they will be brought up and there’s no doubt some of that will be used during the week.

Haha, yep, I'd have Rapa up there as the loosest unit in the comp. Not overly dirty, but loves a niggle and stray forearm.Pete Cash wrote:Tapines discipline on the whole has been pretty good lately. Odd angle the club is taking to build this one up. Feels like all to lose nothing to gain really. Maybe take a lead from the Panthers and put the game away then carry on in the last 20mins. All this talk ahead of kick off has high potential to cause egg on face if we don’t respond and get rolled by a team without both it’s starting halves.

The truly bad outcome here would be if Jack gets caught up in all this carry on. Don’t need him suspended for throwing punches that he’d likely land quite well.Seiffert82 wrote: ↑August 5, 2022, 11:49 amHaha, yep, I'd have Rapa up there as the loosest unit in the comp. I’m torn on this one. Raiders losing Jack for the rest of the year for landing one cleanly on Critchon’s chin is something I’d probably take.Billy Walker wrote: ↑August 5, 2022, 12:35 pmThe truly bad outcome here would be if Jack gets caught up in all this carry on. I guess better he try than than messing with Cleary’s chin. I reckon a chain gang of blokes swinging pick axes for a week wouldn’t make any impact on that monolith of a chin!President Clinton wrote: ↑August 5, 2022, 12:58 pmI’m torn on this one. I would have said losing Jack for a few weeks for landing a clean one on Luai especially but also Critchon would be worth it earlier in the year, but not now.President Clinton wrote: ↑August 5, 2022, 12:58 pmI’m torn on this one. And while Taps has cleaned up his game tremendously, he was binned only last week for a punch and you can bet the refs won't be forgetting it.
Penrith is full of EDIT who are so good at getting away with everything, we will have to be squeaky clean and on our best behaviour...but with Atkins in the middle and a Sutton in the bunker...

The way we win this is to keep our composure and frustrate them out of their game, not the other way around.
How many games have we lost this year by playing football like we are 4 points down with 60 seconds on the clock?
My biggest concern is whether Rapana, Starling, CNK, Wighton and Savage go into the game with their heads screwed on.
I'm looking for Cotric and Papalii to have big games too.

Bizarre CNK wasn't on the extended bench if they were worried about Savage's fitness throughout the week.
