It was literally the worst possible option to take in that situation.julian87 wrote:There were countless stupid plays. Fogarty has improved over a few weeks, but that was a shocking play.

If you werent going for the FG, and i can understand that... the kick HAS to be a grubber to trap them in goal for a repeat set or at least pin them inside their own 10
If you're going to bomb to the ingoal and give them a chance at a 7 tackle set, you might as well just take the FG attempt and try and finish the game

So pretty much we need Broncos to lose 3/3 and us to win 3/3 or Roosters to lose 2/3.
Not gonna happen the way we play and the form Roosters are in.

How about we get a few players back and pass it around a bit on the way back, we could take a punt with 45 seconds left.

The NRL should get in front of that and put in a deliberate wasting time rule (if there isn’t one already).
No one wants to watch a GF end like that with 40 seconds on the clock.

Its not the solution to ALLL our faiding issues. Just most. That shuan Johnson warriors game for example, we didnt touch the footy for those 4-5 minutesRoger Kenworthy wrote: ↑August 14, 2022, 4:53 pm Loving the GH - where the solition to all our fading issues is to run the ball back to our deadball line when there is less than 30 seconds left

I like the 45 second idea... if we're smart, once we have possession and it's a 1:30 left, we could honestly pass the ball back 10-15 metres each play, dance around a bit, come to the tackle and then on the last run it dead! We could probably get that out to near 2 minutes of play if we're dancing well enough once you add in the 30 second drop out clock

Roosters have the Storm and Rabbitohs so there's a chance. That said I can't see us winning 3 on the trot. Pretty crazy if we do end up 14-10, should have been 15-9 without Matt Lodge taking a dive. Shows how weak the depth in the comp is, and with a 17th team to come in.

I am not saying it is a solution to all of our fading issues. But we would have had a least 1 less loss this season if we did so. And that is likely to result in either making the 8 or not. That is one hell of a easy decision to make that make a huge difference on our season.Roger Kenworthy wrote: ↑August 14, 2022, 4:53 pmLoving the GH - where the solition to all our fading issues is to run the ball back to our deadball line when there is less than 30 seconds leftBotman wrote: ↑August 14, 2022, 4:41 pmagreed. i've been screaming at players to do that for years, once you've got possession and there is only 30 seconds left in the game, take it dead and call it a game. It's too depressing to fully pick apart. We can say its a win but there's massive issues there.

Literally every time we have an opportunity to differentiate ourselves from plodding sides we just absolutely refuse to do so.
Sometimes they outplod us and we get away with the narrow victory (Knights, Dragons today).
Sometimes we outplod them (Warriors away, Dragons a few weeks back).
There is just no football IQ, no killer instinct, nothing. We just bumble along and hope that the other side is worse on the day.
We are a brainless football team.

I don't think we win more easily with tapine. We bashed them. Way more metres. It was the goal line defence and goal line attack that made it a close game. There is no player that takes control like Hunt does for them.

Put Ben Hunt in a Raiders jersey we win that by 20
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

15 minutes to go and 12 points up and we put up a midfield bomb that barely makes their 30m mark. Maybe I’m old school but when you are up by 12 with 15m to go pin them on their try line please
Re: 2022 Rd 22 V Dragons: Game Day
We struggle against absolute plodders, but we really struggle against good halves. Ben Hunt and DCE eat pieces of **** like us for breakfast.
Titans showing today how easy Manly are to smash. Watch DCE put a masterclass on next week against us to end our season

I reckon it was a bit of a hold, but probably passable- then the extra push down at the end while he hopped back to marker was all the ammo you usually need to give a ref.Canberra Milk wrote: ↑August 14, 2022, 3:47 pm That's the right call too. The tacklers don't need to get immediately up just because it's last seconds on the clock. There was no hold down
CHN has practically zero match awareness during his time here. It hasn't improved ever so I think it's just how he'll be.
