Raiders player signing speculation 2023

Post by greeneyed »

Welcome to another year of dreaming! This is the thread for all of your speculation about the players you'd like to see recruited by the Canberra Raiders. Remember, if there is a published report from a reputable news service, which links a player to the Raiders, that deserves a thread of its own. Please feel free to start new threads in that case. But if you're thinking... "What about player x? They'd be great at lock…" then this is the place for all of that discussion.

BJ mole will kick this off with the inside scoop that Jaemon Salmon will come to the Raiders thanks to a 3rd party deal from Gaviscon.

I’m hearing similar things, but apparently it’s Canterbury not Canberra.
Ata Mariota’s #1 fan. Bless his cotton socks.

England World Cup star eyes shock NRL switch

England World Cup forward Joe Batchelor is the latest Super League player to attract the attention of NRL clubs. The St Helens back-rower is a late bloomer at 28, making his international debut in the recent World Cup. Batchelor has employed an Australian agent and is keen to give the NRL a go in 2024 and beyond.

Seems Dave Hamilton now scouts for the Bulldogs in Queensland incidentally.

I hear he’s going to do a reality series, where he spends time with each of the clubs to get to know them and understand where they are in their life journey.

At the end of each ep, he will hand out mouth guards to the clubs who will continue on their journey. Clubs who don’t receive a mouth guard will be eliminated, until there’s a lucky winning club.

It’ll be called Batchelor wants to be Joe Millionaire
Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

BJ Mole, any truth to the rumour that Raiders may be interested in enquiring about signing David Fifita?

It’s become a sad state of affairs when the original Mole is now 10 times more accurate and informative than some of these new rugby league pundits who suddenly have access to social media.

Crichton bombshell is set to trigger a $900k feeding frenzy… here’s where he could land

Stephen Crichton has attracted interest from a number of rivals, including the Bulldogs, six clubs could be ready to make a big play for the dual premiership winner for the 2024 season.

While a Raiders play for Crichton would be a longshot, Stuart is reportedly interested in David Fifita’s services. Could he add the Panthers gun to his wishlist?

He's likely already signed with the Bulldogs.

Has he actually played fullback? I know he's a Centre (of which we have in spades) but the article talks about wanting to be a fullback

Has played 6/76 games at Fullback for the Panthers. Those games were back in 2021.

If I was going to throw big money at a player to play full back it would be Manu. I know he is settled at the roosters but surely they couldn't offer him anything near the 1m which frankly I think he is worth

Absolutely. If you are going to pay 1m+ to convert a centre it would have to be Manu

You and every other club in the NRL would pay him a million to play for them. If he was interested in chasing big bucks to play fullback he'd already be at another club.

His financial luck didn’t just stop there. He also just happened to find a brown paper bag with $30k in it, between the 18th and 19th holes.

Bring in a 400/500k edge who is still slightly lower than Whitehead/CHN's contract and spend more on a better half, hooker or lock. Bring the cap into the spine instead of the edge, if you can't get the opportunity perfect edge.
