2023 ASSRL Championships
2023 ASSRL Championships
A new era of women’s rugby league will dawn at the Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League Nationals, to be staged at Dolphin Oval, Redcliffe in July. The ASSRL Nationals have expanded in 2023, with the Under 18 and Under 15/16 tournaments splitting up following the inclusion of female divisions for the first time.
For the second year in a row, KommunityTV will be the only place you can watch all of the action unfold live, with exclusive streams of the Under-18s championships from July 1-7 and the Under-15/16 championships from September 23-29.

17 for QLD is also contracted to the Raiders. For those interested is a lock forward smaller body with decent leg speed and a high work rate.

ACT dummy-half Xavier Cacciotti ready for nationals
He is the dummy-half who has long been willing to stick his head where many others wouldn’t, and now he’s found a knack of sticking it across the tryline. Erindale College hooker Xavier Cacciotti has been on fire this season, with the Raiders rookie ready to make a big statement on the national stage for the ACT.
“As a Raiders club, we never want to lose the kids in our footprint,” coach Ash Barnes said. “Kids like Xavier, we want them to stay at home and play right through to a high level.”

Mitch Brophy perhaps a bit unlucky not to be on the list. The Raiders have some very good young hookers.

Re: 2023 ASSRL Championships
Today's games for ACT Schoolgirls...
ACT v Victoria
Under lights, the Australian Capital Territory Secondary Schools girls dug their heels in and shot out to an early lead – before pinching a 13-12 win in the final stages. Victoria looked to have secured the result when up 12-9 with two minutes to play but ACT hooker Indi Dyball had different ideas when ducking under the defence with a try close to the line, breaking her opponent’s hearts with a telling blow.
NSW CCC v ACT
Flashes of enterprise from NSW CCC No13 Paige Boringer and five-eight Evie McGrath drove their side to a victory against an heroic ACT. NSW CCC won 17-4, but the scoreline did not reflect the close nature of the schoolgirls match. NSW CCC scored three late tries, with two of them scored by Boringer and McGrath.
ACT v NSW Combined High Schools
NSW Combined High Schools five-eighth Lilly-Ann White engineered a convincing 17-0 win. White was tremendous, putting teammates into space, turning defenders inside out and organising the line. NSWCHS had plenty of pace about them and from first glance they loomed as the main challengers to Queensland.

Re: 2023 ASSRL Championships
Results from Day 2 for the ACT Schoolgirls…
NSW CHS v ACT
NSW CHS continued to gather momentum with a 21-0 win. They started strongly with three tries across the opening 10 minutes. Impressive No.13 Aliyah Nasio got the ball rolling, then the NSW forwards combined to engineer their team’s next four pointer.
NSW CCC v ACT
NSW Combined Catholic College centre Evie Jones tilted the match her team’s way 17-0 over ACT. Forget the scoreline - the ACT were much better than that margin and it took a touch of class from Jones, and direction from talented five-eight Evie McGrath (St Mary Star of the Sea) to point the NSW CCC to victory.
Victoria v ACT
The Victorian schoolgirls turned a territorial advantage into a rousing 9-0 win over an amped-up ACT at the ASSRL nationals. Fabulous defence from the ACT girls could not prevent the Vic’s from snaring a brusing victory.
