A very decent reserve back who did a job for us when called on. Great for him now to extend his career in the UK, and very healthy for the club to open up a space for an up and comer.
Seems good all round to me.

Kind of forces Rocky's hand really.
Thanks for the efforts Matt, always felt he tried his hardest to do a job for the team despite not being the most gifted first grade half.
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.
So if Strange goes down or god forbid struggles, who plays five eighth? Our depth in that position has gone from excellent to terrible in a blink. I don't get it
Glad he is moving on as he is exactly the kind of player you dont want taking up a top 30 position. He isn't first grade standard. We will be much better served picking up someone young and hoping something comes of them
Matt Frawley to depart Raiders at end of 2023 season
Canberra Raiders half Matt Frawley #371 will depart the club at the end of the 2023 season to take up a two-year deal with an English Super League club.
Frawley has played 21 matches for the Raiders since returning to his hometown club in 2020. He played his junior representative football with the Raiders before making his NRL debut for the Bulldogs in 2017 where he made 31 appearances in two seasons.
Leeds Rhinos have confirmed the signing of Australian half-back Matt Frawley from NRL side Canberra Raiders on a two year contract.
Frawley, who part of the Raiders side that will begin the NRL play offs this weekend, has previously played in Super League with Huddersfield Giants in 2019 when he was just 24 years old. Now 28, he has made 52 appearances in the NRL with Canterbury and Canberra. Whilst at the Bulldogs, he played alongside Rhinos favourite Rhyse Martin.
He's been a good contributor for us. Had some nice moments in FG, and from all reports was a wonderful mentor and clubman
Appreciate all his time and efforts for the club and wish him all the best.
Think this is the best result for both club and player.
Onward and upwards.
Frawley spoke yesterday about his decision to head to Leeds. Security (two year deal) at Leeds a key factor, had the opportunity to stay at the Raiders (by the sounds a one year deal, but he didn’t say that), wants a new life experience with fiancée living in England and opportunity to test himself with a big ESL club.
Fair call for him and his family
He’ll do well over there. We’ll need someone to replace him and take up the role of nsw cup mentor but they’re a dime a dozen

Good luck in the Old Dart Matt. I liked your work replacing Jack at Origin time.
Will this mean we try to get Schneider back or another half like Welsby?
Schneider gone. Frawley gone.
I saw where there are talks with Penrith Reg, but I hadn't seen where he had signed. Having said that, the opportunity to be at a 2 time premiership winning club and a chance to make it 3 in a row this year, would be very attractive. To come under the Penrith coaching system would also be attractive to most players.
Departing Canberra Raiders half Matt Frawley expects Strange and Stewart to become first graders next season
Departing Raiders half Matt Frawley says the Raiders have a host of exciting young players coming through the ranks.
"Strangey is going to be a first-grader without a doubt and I presume they're in the market for some players as well. Blokes like Ethan Strange, Chevy Stewart they're all going to become first-graders next year in my opinion. It's just maybe getting some experience in there to help them and I'm sure they'll thrive when they get their chance."
Strange had a tough debut vs the Storm, but I happened to be at the ground for that game and kept a close eye on him. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but his positioning in attack impressed me a lot. He was let down on either side in defence and was put under pressure but looked like he had the physicality to hold his own out there.
Fingers crossed he kicks on. He looked really good to me.
