Fisher-Harris with a similar tackle to the one Horse got 4 weeks for.

I loved this story during the week… about the Panthers don’t understand why Sydney is not supporting them… now re-titled…
Why are Sydney fans giving Panthers bandwagon a wide berth? https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/he-was ... 5e6fu.html

Did the ref consider calling that last pass forward? He gave a bit of a funny look at the pass.

Re: 2023 NRL Finals Week 3: Teams and Game Day
They are just irresistible.
For mine it really emphasises how far off the pace we are.
I still can’t believe the cartwheels some Raiders fans were doing over a LOSS against a team that got belted by a team that is likely still a clear tier lower than a team like the Panthers who will likely win the comp.
Separately, the team the Panthers are obliterating right now smacked us for a 48 burger only a few weeks ago and kept us tryless.

What an incredible side. On the basis of that win, they are up there with our 89-91 team, and arguably the greatest team since the Parra team of the early 80s. If they win next week they are arguably the greatest team since the St George dynasty. Absolutely stunning to be so dominant in the professional era. Particularly from a non glamour club.

Yeah, nah. They had some major leg ups during the pandemic.

You sound like a bitter old man, and if this was a team full of Queenslanders based outside of NSW you'd be singing their praises. It's amazing how you bang on about unconscious bias, when virtually every post you make is through the lens of bias towards the Raiders or Queensland.

On here constantly complaining about a generational team, diminishing their achievements and attributing their fourth grand final in a row, and push for a third premiership in a row some imagined leg up 4 years ago? Yeah I'd say that's bitter.greeneyed wrote:And I’m bitter…Dr Zaius wrote:Yeah that's itgreeneyed wrote:Yeah, nah. They had some major leg ups during the pandemic.

I give the Broncos some hope. They should beat the Warriors tomorrow, and they should be in the contest for a fair portion of the grand final.
I just think a lack of big game experience will favour Penrith too much. Too classy, they are a professional unit.

Re: 2023 NRL Finals Week 3: Teams and Game Day
I feel like when a team gets to this level of dominance for me they reach a post-hate era where you just shrug your shoulders and say fair enough, respect.
I definitely recall hating them in 2020-21 when they had an arrogance despite not having backed it up with a ring.
Now they are about to 3peat I find it hard to maintain much rage tbh.
I would love it if we threw ourselves into a ruthless commitment to development, professionalism and winning like Panthers instead of sniffing our own farts for scraping into the finals.

Panthers are a great side. Congrats on them getting to a 4th consecutive GF.
If only they weren't so arrogant. However in terms of footy, near faultless.

Re: 2023 NRL Finals Week 3: Teams and Game Day
They’ve definitely earned the right to be that arrogant. Greatest side of the modern era and when does it end? I jokingly said after their first premiership that they’d win ten in a row - they won’t - but they could well be contenders for the next six years.

Re: 2023 NRL Finals Week 3: Teams and Game Day
Obviously an all time great side, but they are quite boring to watch and don’t have a really memorable style or bunch of players. Honestly their players not dominating at Origin level also doesn’t help them in comparisons with other great side man for man. Top 5 era was also a bit tougher to win comps and there were more stacked teams to get past imo.
So even if their achievement might be first on paper, personally i’d have them about fifth behind the dominant Storm, Raiders, Broncos and maybe Eels (didnt see much of them).
Dragons 11 straight was a 10 team sydney suburban comp with no cap so I dont really consider it a valid comparison.

Re: 2023 NRL Finals Week 3: Teams and Game Day
The Panthers are a brilliant side with or without the ball. Once again they smothered the Storm defensively and this forced the Storm to try different things and sure enough an error occurred and the Panthers were at them again. When considering all the players they have lost in recent seasons either to other sides or to injury or suspension and it makes no difference to them.
For those of us who love the defensive side of the game they are a treat to watch. They hit in numbers and force the ball carrier back and by doing this they break the opposition attacking momentum. They had one try scored against them last night and it came from a one on one missed tackle. I'd love to see their defensive structure/attitude at the Raiders. Then when they have the ball it is heads up footy counting defenders and instinctively going to where the opposition is short on numbers after their battering rams have given them momentum. They play at such a fast tempo and keep it going for the full 80 minutes.
When the NRL is looking to showcase Rugby League in the USA why are the best exponents of it, not on the plane?
