I also think the Raiders should keep an eye on the Arthur situation and pounce on him if he gets the boot.
We could get him to bring Sanders and his son who looks like a gun hooker playing NSW Cup

Can't believe Sanders has a kid playing NSW cup already. What pedigree!

Plus we have last years NSW Under 17's hooker in Mitch Brophy whom I reckon could be the best of the young Raider hookers coming through. His fast spiral passes to both sides and solid defence make him a stand out in my eyes. He was also part of the U/19 Vikings squad to tour NZ late last year. Still a few years away from NRL, but what a prospect.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
Really need to make a call and pick a direction with our hookers. 4 hookers is too many.
Starling offers (or should) a point of difference but he would be the one I would let go.
This would allow Trevelyn an opportunity to develop in Cup as opposed to now where he is getting 10-15 minutes. I’ve liked what I have seen from him over the past couple of years but it’s hard to know what we have when he is not being allowed to develop.

We need four for NRL and NSW Cup every week. Six every week for the top three grades. Plus at the moment there are only three in the top 30, one on the supplementary list. The quality of the three is the issue… but we might just have to wait until the very strong crop of younger dummy halves comes through.Rick wrote:Really need to make a call and pick a direction with our hookers. 4 hookers is too many.

Just need to do something so that the one with the most upside gets more than 10m a week.
This would be fixed if Woolford was playing NRL with Trev and Puru splitting the duties in Cup.

Lewis Dodd to Souths??
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
Excited for that! No idea if he’s gonna be good enough at nrl level but I love seeing those top tier English players come over and test themselves
The hit rate on these guys is substantially higher than it once was. Feels like most guys who come over now at least show they’re NRL level talents

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
This is the guy Drew Hutchison is keeping out of FG? What do Canterbury want in return ? I didn’t see the NSW Cup game when Sexton played against us - how was he?
Pezet unfortunately has an ACL so that closes that opportunity. Brent Read mentioned Sean O Sullivan today.

Sean O'Sullivan would be ideal but only need someone for this season.Hong Kong Raider wrote:This is the guy Drew Hutchison is keeping out of FG? What do Canterbury want in return ? I didn’t see the NSW Cup game when Sexton played against us - how was he?

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Pezet has just done his ACL.
We need to do something
Preference would be Sanders , then Cook then look at Sexton on a loan or another half on loan then Weekes.
Weekes isn't a halfback and we don't have a game plan to suit to play 2 5/8s as halves.

I think Weekes limited nrl experience is keeping Cook out of 7

If cookie fits into the squad they should just upgrade him, but it'll be another 2 weeks before another half would play for us if it was a new signing and he's been going alright in cup.
He is a better all round half than weekes in my opinion

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
I was actually surprised at how good Hutchison looked for the Chooks last year. This year at the Bulldogs he plays as if Morgan Smithies was playing halfback. The bloke is slow as. He see's a massive gap, tries to run through it, and it closes before he's even got one foot off the ground. Absolute slug.Hong Kong Raider wrote: ↑April 29, 2024, 5:44 pmThis is the guy Drew Hutchison is keeping out of FG? What do Canterbury want in return ? Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
He’s not, but he could probably be juggled into the supplementary list if the Raiders wanted to. There is a spot vacant on that list.bonehead wrote: ↑April 29, 2024, 8:37 pmCook isn't on an nrl deal I don't thinkdubby wrote:LimeGreenMachine wrote: ↑April 29, 2024, 7:05 pmPezet has just done his ACL.

Trai Fuller
Hi guys, long time viewer first time poster. Great forum
I've watched Trai fuller closely over the last two weeks, this guy is an absolute weapon
He is stuck behind the hammer and will be for a long time
Anyone else think he will be a great signing?
Rapana (love the guy) is currently our best fullback and at his age with the injuries, he will be lucky to play out the year.
Chevy does not look ready. His size and speed are a worry. He needs a few seasons in the reggies

How about Jayden Campbell, I would go for him. I think Titans re-signed him without a real plan for him. Two year contract while Chevy gets up to speed, also means we're not as reliant on Chevy
