Fitting. That 89 number killed so many great Balmain players.

In all honesty, a great player, great administrator and a sad loss for the rugby league community.

BTW I like how the 1989 Grand Final is now being shared and recognised amongst the players of both teams. Blocker, Elias, Pearce, Sirro, etc deserve recognition for the role they played and the hairs breadth they came from winning a well deserved premiership.

Just watched a replay of Face2Face with James Maloney.

MrsPJ says who’s that ?

I tell her it’s James Maloney, recently retired footy player.

She’s says he looks 60 EDIT.

I was at a game in Canberra where Hill copped a spear tackle and laid down for ages, raiders player possibly sent off, before jumping up and being near best on ground.

I might be wrong but as I recall, Ben ‘The Boss’ Cross got about 6 weeks in his final game for the raiders for dropping the most obvious knees into Tezza’s ribs after slagging off Canberra

Terry Hill was a legend. Funny guy, took the piss out of himself, and an exceptional footballer. Shone during the golden era of the Footy Show.

The cringe level of the video was amazing. Only thing that could have made it better was if he was up against Buzz.

At 54, he needs to know better.
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Probably my favourite journo.

Yeah, I do feel for him. But I think this incident will probably spell the end of his career.

Only if he wants it to be.

It’s just too easy for anyone to go independent now and publish their own podcast or articles etc.

Don’t think that pays quite as well. Perhaps makeup tutorials?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

It’s weird when people in the media who have managed to have very normal lives and careers through sport/media/television start going completely off the rails. I mean, I guess it makes sense for celebrities like Britney Spears, but when it starts happening to the likes of Michael Slater, Andrew O’Keefe, Paul Kent, it’s weird. Too much grog or other vices frying their brains into making terrible life decisions?

Not to sure Finchy. This type of thing happens to everyday people, it just doesn’t get the attention.

I’d say Kent gets targeted by a lot of trolls. Online and IRL.

Admittedly I do not watch every game.

Cuz there’s 16 clubs I dont care about. But I watch highlights and read papers for updates.

The adjudicating both on field and in the bunker is atrocious.

The game is in horrible shape.

That is all.

There was a blatant forward pass in the dogs tigers game that somehow all 3 officials missed.

Arghh yes..

Mrs Badger. I’m hearing she lost control again yesterday. There’s a reason she’s given Raiders, Titans, Tigers games. She’s not ready for it.

She’ll never ref Penrith/Storm/Roosters/Broncos blockbusters. And it’s got nothing to do with being a woman, she’s just not good enough.
