Is Mooney the new Royce Hunt?

What’s the other option ?Green Blogger wrote: ↑April 2, 2024, 3:05 pm So outside of the Hosking concussion no change. What a surprise.
Drop Savage, Schiller and Hors after lasts week show would kill confidence.
I for one am glad the coach stuck solid. These boys will be hell bent to play well.
Congrats to Simi..bleedgreen fella.

All I can think re Mooney, maybe once Stick picks him, he'll pick him forever, like he does with other favourites
But it's very unlikely other clubs wouldn't be knocking and fairly hard

Not sure what else Mooney needs to do to get a run.
Bloke just hasn't knocked on the door, he's ripped it off its hinges.

And it's not like he has guys in front of him who are performing well enough to keep him out of the team. That is the most frustrating part. The Green Hornet wrote: ↑April 2, 2024, 3:18 pm Not sure what else Mooney needs to do to get a run.

I'm not a fan of Ata in the second row and he really should be the starting prop but if it's just 20 minutes like the EW rotation in rd3 then it makes sense. I'm also glad he didn't dump the outside backs but its a big game for them now.
The Mooney stuff is getting too old to bother worrying about anymore. If he does play one day or hangs around long term it will be a nice surprise.

Any chance someone other than Fogarty might kick the ball this round? It's a little predictable now for the opposition.

Not for Mooney and fans that see his potential. The guy would be huge for us.NoMan wrote: ↑April 2, 2024, 3:22 pm I'm not a fan of Ata in the second row but if it's just 20 minutes like the EW rotation in rd3 then it makes sense. Here's hoping the pre-game speech brings the players out all fired up, rather than the dropsies we saw last week.
Re: 2024 Round 5 v Eels: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
We should just start Sasagi at edge and move ata back to the bench
Ata on the edge from the jump worries me a little
Those eels halves are quick on their feet and strong runners. That’s a recipe for potential disaster if Ata can’t stay in front of them
As for Mooney it’s all been said. I’ll be cheering for him to find success at this next club

Same team. Interesting. I'd say except for a smokescreen they are being given an opportunity to redeem themselves.
Good to see Sasagi get a chance, had a really strong game on the weekend.

Pretty sure I am his biggest cheerleader on here, but at some point you just need to accept that's the way it is and judge Ricky on the results. The Green Hornet wrote: ↑April 2, 2024, 3:23 pmNot for Mooney and fans that see his potential. Majority of us wanted the team that was picked last week.
Ricky is allowing for the players to make up for that poor performance.
Hopefully they got their ass kicked and are on fire this weekend . Parra are a good fast team. We need to be on

Saulo literally offers nothing, he looks like he runs hard but that's it

Re: 2024 Round 5 v Eels: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
People say he's got a quick play the ball speed but looking at stats from the weekend his average was the slowest of the four props. Even if we were to accept this false conclusion that he is quick to play the ball, it doesn't really make a difference if you're not bending the line. And you're correct, his hair makes him appear to be running harder than he is. Without it, all would clearly see exactly how much of a plodder he is.VictorTheViking wrote: ↑April 2, 2024, 3:43 pm Saulo literally offers nothing, he looks like he runs hard but that's it

Great to have in the squad as depth to cover injury/suspension... not a player you want to be including in the 17 every week.
Re: 2024 Round 5 v Eels: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
Mooney or Guler have to come in for Saulo.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.
Re: 2024 Round 5 v Eels: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
So which club do we think Mooney will be carving up at next year?

That makes sense. Bellyache can chalk up yet another W over his mate Rick.
Bellamy sends us his spuds, and in return we send him our up and coming talents!

I generally am mate. I hope I’m wrong about certain things of late, particularly this juniors are going to save the club idea.

Can only hope we would do a fraction more due diligence than we did with Curtis Scott or Sisa Waqa!Colk wrote: ↑April 2, 2024, 4:46 pmHeck don’t give them ideas. Wonder what spud they’ll give us this time.
Re: 2024 Round 5 v Eels: Teams and Previews
Exactly. There are a few clubs that need middle forwards. Some cough Melbourne cough could get him at an absolute bargainCanberra Milk wrote: ↑April 2, 2024, 3:14 pm All I can think re Mooney, maybe once Stick picks him, he'll pick him forever, like he does with other favourites

We will probably get Marion Seve or somethingRickmando wrote: ↑April 2, 2024, 4:51 pmCan only hope we would do a fraction more due diligence than we did with Curtis Scott or Sisa Waqa!Colk wrote: ↑April 2, 2024, 4:46 pmHeck don’t give them ideas. Wonder what spud they’ll give us this time.

How did Mooney play 5 games in 2022 but can’t even get a run now?

Mooney must have been bloody close, over Sisagi or Hors, but the same team otherwise is pretty much what I had expected.
I obviously see the Savage situation quite differently to most. I'll be amazed if he gets dropped at all this season.
Same deal ultimately with Mooney. I reckon the club sees a massive future in him. He's going to be a big part of our pack next season, if not by the end of this one.

Did Trey Mooney run over Sticky’s dog?

I reckon Mooney will get a chance again, it's time he comes back into the side I have no doubt he would not let the team down, happy for Ata hope he has a bliner against the eels. Horseburg differently needed to be dropped after his performance on the weekend.
Canberra Raiders supporter though thick and thin from the very beginning.

Ata playing second row is ridiculous really. Just play Sisagi there. He might not be a very good option at least he could actually have the mobility to play there

I'd be surprised if he lined up on the right. I'm expecting Smithies to play there and then Ata be subbed by Sisagi.Colk wrote:Ata playing second row is ridiculous really. Just play Sisagi there. He might not be a very good option at least he could actually have the mobility to play there

I doubt Mariota will play much more than the opening 20 minutes at second row. Barring injury he will come back on in the middle for the final 20.
