Jermaine Ale was included in the "farewell to leaving players" section at yesterday's Awards Night.

That is really sad, as he showed a lot of potential and it doesn't look like he's got another team... I hope he gets one and does well too.

I think Martin is going to some lower league english club, the fact that he holds a EU passport (or something similar) means he doesn't count as an overseas quota..

Cheers guys. :)

I think in the article it said Martin was off to Wales?

I just thought it may have come up last night as to where they were headed.

Michael Dobson - end 2007
Vili Faingaa - end 2007
Craig Frawley - end 2007
Ryan Hinchcliffe - end 2007
Andrew Lomu - end 2007
Steve McLean - end 2007
Junior Sau - end 2007
Jason Williams - end 2007

We really have no huge players coming of contract in 2007, other then possibly Dobson and Hinchliffe and maybe Sau. This years team will go through to 2008 without many changes I would think. Thats a plus I believe.

Inside word is that Craig Frawley is on the out and has permission to seek another club for the 07 season. Not that you need permission to talk to rival clubs anymore but a release may be on the cards.

Yeah i always rated him but I guess you cant really defend his performances since joing the club.

Big build and fast, good footy brain but something is missing. Seems like he doesnt want to be out there at times but then he chases down the warriors winger to save the game like his life depended on it... I dont understand :?

Issue is... our backline strength looks awful as it is. Phil Graham seems to be the consensus as our first centre chosen, but to be honest, he is simply not consistent enough and does not get involved enough to be a top line NRL centre IMO. I like the flashes of brilliance and pace, but he doesn't use it to his advantage sufficiently.

If Frawley is released, our skinny backline depth looks worse... unless management has someone else in mind in terms of recruitment?

That's a real shame as I think he's very talented, but has been mishandled by Elliott and the club.

I guess at this point with Henry looking at playing Zillman or Goodwin in the centres he is regarded as unnecessary.

I'm concerned about our centre depth though, perhaps with the cash freed up by Frawley (the whole 225K of it) we can buy someone decent.

From what I remember (and don't quote me on it), but when we signed him in 2004, we had a lot of other 'stars' leave that year as well, so we frontloaded a lot of the contracts so we'd pay them more in the first few years than the last year or two, to save cap money for 2007 and beyond. So next year's salary for him may not be that big afterall. Even so, maybe he hates the weather and misses home, perhaps money has nothing to do with it.

He just doesn't seem to be a happy camper at the Raiders. No try-scoring animal for us either...

You'd have to wonder who would pick him up however. The Titans maybe, I doubt Brisbane will take him back. Most clubs will have finalised their cap.

the titans is the only real option, though penrith do need some outside backs, and at present they apparently have cap money to be able to sign craig wing if he was made avalible, might be an option

frawley is a player i wouldnt lement losing

If he signs for another club for less then his 2007 contract is worth I'm pretty sure we would have to mke up the difference. So a club could get him fairly cheap.

Frawley is a good player, pretty big for a centre. Would be a shame to see him go. I doubt any team could afford him, i reckon the Titans have filled their salary cap.

Cowboys. I still don't think there is any point releasing him at this stage. See what he can do this year.
